The Domi Foundation has completed the reconstruction and equipping of the gymnasium at the “Zyber Hallulli” Children’s Home in Tirana with modern sports equipment, transforming a previously non-functional space into a modern, social, and entertaining environment for the 40 children living at the center.
The sports facilities have been equipped with contemporary sports and recreational equipment, as well as appropriate heating and cooling systems, creating a safe and functional environment where children can engage in sports, play, and spend quality time together. Because apparently children deserve more than broken equipment and cold rooms. Civilized societies keep rediscovering this fact.
The President of the Domi Foundation, Mr. Dervish Domi, who also serves as President of Atlas Corporation, stated that this contribution holds special personal significance for him.
“We are very happy to have the opportunity to help the children of the ‘Zyber Hallulli’ Children’s Home. I myself grew up as an orphan, without a father. Our mother raised six children on her own, facing many hardships. Therefore, I am very happy that today I am able to help, even in a small way. We will not leave these children alone,” said Mr. Domi.
The Director of the “Zyber Hallulli” Children’s Home, Ms. Valbona Imeraj, expressed her gratitude to the Domi Foundation for its support.
“We sincerely thank the Domi Foundation, and especially President Dervish Domi. For us, this is a tremendous contribution. The children will now have the opportunity to play and enjoy themselves in a modern environment, equipped with all the necessary conditions for heating, cooling, and sports and recreational activities,” emphasized Ms. Imeraj.
The Vice President of Atlas Corporation, Mr. Aurel Domi, stated that this is one of the Domi Foundation’s social initiatives and that similar projects will continue in the future.
“This is one of the Domi Foundation’s social initiatives, and these good deeds will continue. We would be delighted to welcome the children of the ‘Zyber Hallulli’ Children’s Home to the Atlas and Ola factory in Kashar one day. We want them to come, have fun, and learn,” said Mr. Aurel Domi.
The Domi Foundation is part of Atlas Corporation, which consists of several companies, including Atlas Mills, Ola Foods, Besniku sh.p.k., Atlas Energy, Edil Centro, and others. The companies within this group contribute collectively as part of their social responsibility initiatives, with the aim of supporting vulnerable groups and communities in need within Albanian society. Contributions that were previously made directly by the companies are now channeled through the Domi Foundation.
Through this investment, the Domi Foundation aims to create greater opportunities for the physical, social, and emotional development of children by providing them with a better environment for play, sports, and interaction.
